Ecclesiastes 5: 1-2
"Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. 2 Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few."
Ecclesiastes 5: 1-2

Hello Real World...Goodbye College
Well as I'm packing up all my boxes and saying goodbye to college life, I am unexpectedly content and at ease. I cannot wait to be a teacher, I cannot wait to travel Europe with one of my best friends, and I cannot wait to catch up on life and read some books. I never thought I would end up where I am, but well, here I am. Graduated, awaiting my teaching credential, soon to be resident of Southern California (God-willing), and soon to be independent young woman.
However, this doesn't come without fears. What if it isn't God's plan for me to be down here next year substitute teaching? What if He has a completely different plan for my life that I simply cannot see yet? Well, it's a good thing I can't mess up the will of God, but I also cannot see what He has in store for me for the future.
But I hold fast to Him, knowing that he knows the desires of my heart and knowing that His plans far exceed my own plans when it comes to greatness. They may not be what I wanted or had ever expected, but in the end they are far better. This doesn't help me from thinking about my future twenty times a day, but should it? Yes. Of course. I know that God is good, and mighty, and loving, and all powerful, and a healer. And I know he cares for each one of us:
"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand —
when I awake, I am still with you.

Psalm 139: 13-18
And it is in this that I take comfort and peace and confidence. That He who created the heavens and the earth loves each one of us. And has a plan for each one of us. Even when we don't know how it will turn out. In the meantime, I pray, I hope, I trust, and I seek Him alone for He is the treasure that is worth seeking in this life. TO those of you in the same boat, I pray you will seem encouragement, comfort, and peace knowing that we have a God who is loving and who cares about us so much that He would send His only son to die for our sin so that we could have new life with a God who is Holy and so deserving of our worship. In His name only, Karin.
